Big Creek, Day 2: Final North American Fieldwork
Day 2: Beaver Creek to Monumental Creek
The most noteworthy observation this day was how strong the contrast is between the suspended sediment concentrations in Monumental Creek and Big Creek. In the middle reaches of Monumental, ash deposits of Challis age (~40ma) wash in via small tributaries with names like Chalk, Milk and Paint Creeks. We camped directly across from the confluence.
